I wanted to chime in and say that I'm glad I bought the JMP1. It's best at hard rock sounds.. I need to use a clean channel and an overdrive pedal for lighter sounds. (U2, etc) The JMP into the EL34 100/100 is the most impractical, but most amazing rig I've owned.
Uggggggggg, I HATE to sound like a salesman........but very recently IK released some new CS models and considering ATfree will host them.....they are worth checking. I know people rag on them allot but I really found some of the new models intoxicating. BTW, I have Sgear and it is good but yeah, people have been waiting for mac version forever. And x64, seems like a pipe-dream.

Ah. Ok then. Thanks for the tips. I'll give em a try tonight. I really would love it if I can make this thing work. It sounds pretty freaking great through my amp, I'll say that!
Ok, man did I ever make progress. I grabbed some great amp sims from signals audio.com. What a job they did. So much so I had to donate. Anyway, one HUGE thing I was missing was to put the dry signal off in reaverb. I just clued into that. So I am getting some pretty decent tones now straight in!!!! Now to play with it for the month (now that I know what I'm doing!!!!) Thanks a ton everyone. Reaper rocks!

Amp sims are cool after recording but I find it sucks to play them even POD, etc. Something about the dynamic snap of a real amp I haven't been able to overcome. So I got a good deal on an already cheap Peavey 6505+ 112 combo. That has an emulated post-power amp xlr output and also you can send just the preamp out via the fx loop to IRs. People with real amps that are too loud can always build or buy a reactive load emulator with a line out. They're very simple devices that rule. -robo
carlier74: I use the line outs, and I run it into a line in on the interface. The 'emulated outs' have a poor cab emu... unless you have no other option, I wouldn't use these. CapitalC: Sorry I missed your post there. So you're loving a tubescreamer into the JMP clean channel? (or another amp?) Either way, I'm glad you found it. I recently bought the Engl e530 as well. ..and again the 'light drive' isn't ideal, but a tubescreamer in front makes a huge difference. Here's an example of the heavier sound I'm getting:
