I'm shooting foley on a HD system using Machine Control to shuttle a SONY PVW-2650P Beta SP player. In addition to this I have recently purchased a Contour Pro Shuttle V2 controller (works great when PT is offline). But I need to cue the Sony machine up at a frame accurate level in order to give foley artists exact cue-points for spotting FX. However, when jogging, the machine doesn't seem to respond properly, you jog a few frames and then all of a sudden the machine will jump forward (essentially it's extremely crude) The Sony machine responds fine when using our AKAI DL1500 conrol surface. I'm not sure if it's a machine control problem? but surely someone out there is controlling SP players in Post-production smoothly??? Any advice would be great.. Greg Marshall

Do you possibly have the 'Machine Cues Intelligently' preference enabled? If so, try unchecking it and tell us if the behaviour improves.

Even with intelligent cueing off (which does improve slightly) does not give a high enough level of accuracy to spot at frame level.
