PT 6 and OS X sound out for other app\'s

When running OS 9 there was a way to select the digi 001 box for the computer sound output, so when using applications such as Roxio Jam you could here the audio coming through your studio monitors as opposed to the computer's speaker. I recently was playing around with PT 6 and OS X and could not figure out how to do this. Has anyone figured out this problem?

Hey, I'm having the same problem, I recently installed os 10.2 "jaguar" and the PTLE 6.1 and none ot he programs I'm running will let me choose the 002 as my audio out put, meaning Reason 2.5 and Live 3.0 will not let me use the 002 for audio out. what gives? is there a way to do this again, everthing was working perfectly in 0s 9.2 and PTLE 5.2.3 can anyone please help. Also everytime I go to the digidesign harware control panel, it says hardware in use by another program? ANy Ideas guys? I was thinking of dowloading the 6.1.2 update and the 6.1.1 core audio driver, will that help? Thanks

Go to the Digidesign folder in applications and run the DigiDesign CoreAudio Setup. You can choose which programs coreaudio will be available to.

Thanks but I believe that the core audio advice you are giving me pertains to the new G5's. I am running this on a G4 and there doesn't seem to be any core audio app. I'm not quite ready to run out and by a G5, can anyone answer this question in regard to a G4 running Mac 10.2.8 and PT 6?

As I recall the ability to send out audio from other apps through the Digidesign hardware is a feature in PT 6.1.2 for "Jaguar" and PT 6.2.2 for "Panther". Make sure you're upgraded. There'll be a CoreAudio Setup app you can pull up in your Digidesign folder. Then make the final output selection through Sound preferences. At least that's how it works on my G4 laptop and G4 PowerMac.
