Yes I did a search first and found a few things on these errors but nothing about them on PT8. First I get the 9019 error then the 9072 error. Something about fire wire band width only I have no fire wire HD. The audio HD I use is a sata 500gb 7400rpm internal. (separate from my os hd of course) This set up ran great on PL7.4 and now I'm having problems with 8.0. HP Elite Q6600 @ 2.4 4gb of ram 500gb internal audio drive 350gb internal os drive Digi 002R (fire wire on the motherboard no card) Nvidia Geforce 8400 Gs graphics card with the latest drivers I'm usually pretty good at troubleshooting in pro tools but this one has me stumped. Please help me!!!

I would guess that it's time for a dedicated firewire card (SIIG cards all have the Ti chip in them). Most of my research has shown that on-board firewire is a crapshoot at best.

Thank you, something I can use. No one seems to have a straight answer or solution for these errors. I just don't understand why it's only happening on PT8 and never on 7.4.
Funny thing, when I went from 7.3.1 to 7.4 I started getting FW bus errors that I had never seen before. And that WITH a qualified SIIG firewire card in place. Guess sometimes the software updates have an impact on how the hardware communicates?
Bump for any other advice? And when I find the problem I will post on this thread of how I fixed it. I've noticed if people fix there problem they really don't post that its fixed.
Best thing I could have done... WENT BACK TO PT 7.4!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love the features of 8.0 but I'm going to wait till they figure out how to make it work right first.
I've been fighting this problem leave it to a computor based system to give you such a useless vague error message so you can waist days trouble shooting it with the all the 3rd party nightmares IT MIGHT NOT BE YOUR DRIVE maxum pluggin might lead you to believe you think you're using a subtle compressor ... but in reality it's useless .....and causes this problem it should come with a warning
